Huntley, IL – Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s
Association Illinois Chapter, is excited to announce the launch of a new Caregiver Support
Group for individuals caring for loved ones living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The
group will hold its kickoff meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM, featuring a
special presentation, The Ten Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s, led by Alzheimer’s Association
Community Educator David Rohlwing.
The Caregiver Support Group will meet regularly on the third Tuesday of every month at 2:00
PM at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, located at 10805 Main Street, Huntley, IL
60142. These meetings provide caregivers with a supportive space to share experiences,
receive emotional encouragement, and gain practical strategies for navigating the caregiving
journey.
“Caregivers often face significant challenges, and this support group is a way to connect them
with resources, information, and a community that understands their journey,” said Donna Kelly,
the group’s facilitator. Donna Kelly serves as the main contact for the group and can be reached
at donna@sotpmail.com or 847-669-9448.
The kickoff session and all monthly meetings are free and open to the public. For additional
details or to register, visit www.bit.ly/SOTPdem or the church’s website at
