Grace Lutheran Church to Host Alzheimer’s Education Program

Woodstock, IL – Grace Lutheran Church, located at 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road, will host

the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter for a special education program, Understanding

Alzheimer’s and Dementia, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 10:15 to 11:15 AM.

This event is open to the public and offers an opportunity to learn more about Alzheimer’s

disease, dementia, and free care and support resources available to families impacted by these

conditions.

In addition to attending the program, churches and faith-based organizations are encouraged to

support Alzheimer’s awareness through the “Go Purple for ALZ” initiative. Suggested activities

include hosting an Alzheimer’s education class, devoting a sermon or Bible study to topics of faith, aging, and dementia, providing informational materials for members, encouraging members to wear purple to show support, and organizing a prayer circle for those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

For more information or to explore ways to involve your congregation, contact Aileen Zei at

amzei@alz.org or 815-484-1302.

We offer peer-or professionally led groups for caregivers, individuals living with Alzheimer's and others dealing with the disease. All support groups are facilitated by trained individuals. Many locations offer specialized groups for children, individuals with younger-onset and early-stage Alzheimer's, adult caregivers and others with specific needs.

Support groups are held virtually or in person, please see your local listing for details.
