Happy summer! It’s hard to believe we’re already in another fiscal year. Time truly flies when you’re engaged in meaningful work that empowers others — and what a year it has been!

As I reflect on my role as Chair of the Illinois Women’s Caregiver Alliance (IWCA), I am filled with gratitude. It has been an incredible honor to work alongside such a passionate and committed group of volunteers and Association staff. Your dedication has been the driving force behind a year marked by growth, impact, and connection.

Together, we’ve expanded our presence and deepened our reach through a variety of efforts — from social media campaigns and virtual educational sessions to in-person events and community engagement activities. These collective efforts have made a real difference, welcoming 41 new members into the IWCA family this year alone.

As we look ahead into a new fiscal year, our mission remains strong and clear. We are committed to building on the momentum of our accomplishments and embracing fresh, innovative programs that support, uplift, and engage caregivers across Illinois. There’s more work to be done, but with this incredible community, the future is bright.

Thank you for being part of this journey — your involvement continues to inspire and fuel our shared purpose.

With appreciation,

Carol Shaw-Burns

Chair, Illinois Women’s Caregiver Alliance (IWCA)
